Blue Star is India's largest central air conditioning company with a network of 32 offices, seven modern manufacturing facilities, over 2,000 dealers and around 2,500 employees. The company serves a large number of corporate, commercial and residential customers, and has established leadership in the field of commercial refrigeration equipment, ranging from water coolers to cold storages. Blue Star also offers comprehensive electrical contracting and plumbing and fire fighting services. Blue Star's other businesses include marketing and maintenance of hi-tech professional electronic and industrial products. Blue Star has business alliances with world-renowned technology leaders such as Rheem (USA), Hanbell (Taiwan), Hitachi (Japan), Midea (China), Information Security Systems (UK), E's Inc (Japan), Carel (Italy) and GREE (China).
Ashok M. Advani joined Blue Star in 1969 and held a variety of senior positions in manufacturing and finance before taking over as Chairman and Chief Executive in 1984. He was redesignated first as Chairman and Managing Director in 2005 and then as the Executive Chairman in 2009. He relinquished this position in 2012, and continues on as the Chairman of the Blue Star. He received his M.B.A. from the Harvard School of Business and studied electrical engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He also received a Bachelor’s of Science (Honours) from Mumbai University.
